Here's what Radical has to say about Crypto Boom:

The Crypto Boom is a pearl version of the original Crypto but now features the new HK22. This cover is setting a new standard by which all coverstocks are being measured. With the addition of the HK22 cover, the Crypto Boom offers a complimentary ball motion to the original Crypto with a clean projection through the front part of the lane, and a sharper continuous down-lane motion. The Crypto Boom uses the same core as the original Crypto, with a RG of 2.481 and a DIFF of 0.046.

Strengths

The motion from the Crypto Boom was long and predictable for our testers. When stronger balls started to overreact, the Crypto Boom allowed us to stay in the same part of the lane and take full advantage of the clean coverstock pushing the ball to the breakpoint.

Weaknesses

We ran into some trouble if we got too far left too quickly with the Crypto Boom. The polished glossy cover sometimes wanted to over-skid for us on the oil in the middle of the lane.

Overall Summary

The Crypto Boom follows up on the original Crypto with a switch to an HK22-based pearlized coverstock. This ball offers significantly more length and a stronger change of direction downlane compared to the original.
