The new DV8 Chill is a solid symmetric, with cool colors and, honestly, a less than chill backend reaction. The Chill follows the Diamond Diva, using the same Diva 2.0 core and Inciter Max Flip Solid. The core, cover, and smooth 3000-grit Siaair finish make the Chill an excellent benchmark ball that will be used on a wide range of conditions.

Strengths

We really liked how well the Chill was able to read the midlane and provide a consistent, strong move through the entire lane. When we didn't need a ball that hooked the entire lane or turned on a dime at the breakpoint, the Chill was a fantastic option when there was oil in the front.

Weaknesses

Even though its coverstock is called Inciter Max Flip, the Chill was actually pretty smooth and produced more of an arc than a flip. That is only a weakness for bowlers expecting a different shape, and our three testers were fans of this ball's motion and continuation.

Overall Summary

The Chill fits the bill for a midrange ball in the DV8 line that complements the balls above and below it in terms of total hook. It balances a strong hook potential and a smooth motion that will please bowlers who aren't looking for maximum overall hook or maximum angularity at the breakpoint.
