Ebonite is proud to bring back a fan-favorite line, the Big Time. Big Time Special Editions (S.E.) contains the same Big Time symmetric core that made this ball popular. This shape provides a clean, consistent benchmark reaction. 

Wrapped in the HK22- GB13.7 Pearl reactive coverstock, finished at 500/1000/1500 Siaair Micro Pad, Big Time S.E. will read medium-heavy lane conditions earlier and provide a strong overall hook.

Whenever Tommy Jones is asked about his favorite ball of all time, he always points to the Big Time. Tommy throwing the Big Time on TV was memorable for many bowlers, and we thought it was time to put the Big Time back in Tommy’s bag finally. The Big Time Special Edition has the same core shape and colors as the original and will be a favorite benchmark type of ball. While the colors are the same, the cover has been updated with HK22 and the GB 13.7 additives. This throwback perfectly fits the current Ebonite line, adding a symmetric pearl with a dull finish that can be used on medium to heavy oil conditions, and it will work great when bowlers need earlier and stronger mid-lane motion than the Emerge or GB4 Hybrid.

Strengths

The Big Time SE provides a unique motion in the Ebonite line. It starts very early thanks to its rough finish, which makes it easy to control, while its medium RG and pearlized HK22-based coverstock allow the ball to retain energy through the pins.

Weaknesses

There were times it felt like the Big Time SE was fighting itself as it went down the lane. The very dull finish wanted to grab the lane early and use energy, while the higher RG core and pearl cover tried to push it farther down the lane. We got trapped a few times trying to force the ball far enough to the right and not having enough downlane recovery.

Overall Summary

The Big Time SE provides a different motion than other balls in the current Ebonite line. Bowlers looking for an option on medium to heavier oil conditions for when their other equipment isn't quite matching up will want to look at this ball.
