Storm's latest release to the IQ Tour line is new, different, and it's urethane. IQ TOur 78/U features a newly formulated Controll 78 Solid urethane coverstock, finished at 500-Grit Abralon. This PBA approved cover will offer smooth controllable predictability on the lanes.

Inside, the C3 Centripetal Control symmetric core has a low RG, which will help the ball maintain urethane-like reaction. You can expect smooth arcing motion on drier lane surfaces.

Strengths

The IQ Tour 78/U excelled for us when playing straighter angles and controlling the breakpoint on drier patterns. This ball was great at blending out front-to-back motion and wet/dry conditions.

Weaknesses

We got into trouble when we tried to open our angles too much through the front of the lane. It was very easy for the ball to hit flat or not make it back to the pocket if we got it going too far away from the headpin.

Overall Summary

The IQ Tour 78/U is exactly what its name says it is. This ball uses the reliable C3 Centripetal Control Core and a new 78-hardness urethane coverstock to meet new PBA specifications for the 2024 season. It excels on drier conditions and when playing straighter angles.
